26-year-old Colmarian engineer Jonathan banner won a gold medal as well as the Mayor of Paris’ prize at the Concours Lépine, part of the Fair of Paris, which took place form April 27 to May 8.
The young engineer was awarded for the creation of a smartphone app, Sphere, which enables users to do professional networking in real time via chat (instant messaging).
The Grand East region, as well as the city of Paris, both close candidates to host the 2024 Olympic games, have already shown interest.
Born in Colmar, Jonathan Banner attended Blaise Pascal high school where he obtained an STC baccalaureate degree with an emphasis in engineering. After getting a telecommunications and networks DUT in Colmar, he joined the ECE in Paris, a school for general and computer science engineering, before going on to studying at the University of California in Irving where he was distinguished by the Alumni Achievement Award. In 2014, he created his business which employs 14 people at its two offices in Paris and Strasbourg.
